Our campaign we are more was launched in 2010, i.e. in the beginning of the process of adoption of the next cycle of EU policies and programmes for 2014-2020. EU budgets are indeed decided upon every seven years, and the negotiation process itself lasts several years.

The EU budget negotiations calendar is complex, has several parallel tracks, and is extremely dependant on political agreements to be reached behind the scenes by Member States. Those political negotiations might indeed slow down the formal co-decision processes between Council and Parliament, on the basis of Commission’s proposals, that will eventually lead to the adoption of the future EU policies and programmes. This means that when planning our campaign activities, we will have to be flexible and adapt our plans to new situations and information along the way.
