Denmark is definitely in focus this week with two big events under the Danish EU Presidency coming up in Brussels and Herning.
On Wednesday the 6th of June in Brussels, Culture Action Europe‘s Secretary General will participate in a reflection panel together with the Lithuanian and Norwegian Ministers of Culture and the MEP Maria Badía I Cutchet at the Team Culture 2012 conference ‘Realising & Releasing the Potential of Culture’. Team Culture 2012 is an initiative and task-force consisting of 13 cultural personalities launched by the Danish Minister of Culture to debate the role of culture in times of crisis. During the conference, apart from presenting best practice examples, the group will also present their manifesto.
On the 7-8 of June, Culture Action Europe is travelling to Herning in the Central Denmark region to participate in the international culture conference Next step that will debate the future EU policies and their potential impact on the cultural landscape of Europe in the next ten years to come. Culture Action Europe is a partner in the conference that is organized by DSI Swinging Europe and CKI. In connection with the conference, Culture Action Europe and Intercult will also organize an evaluation meeting of the Nordic campaign project ‘we are more – gathering Nordic cultural operators to joint advocacy actions’ that will be hosted by DSI Swinging Europe.
